Suffer Suffer is one of the best tracks I've heard so far this year.
Need a moment to rave about this record that is going way too far under the radar. Rhabdomantic Orchestra are RIPE for fans of khruangbin, Sault and Nubiyan Twist. They’re the most exciting act coming out of Turin, Italy rn. Led by multi-instrumentalist Manuel Volpe, the collective released their debut in 2016 but after a long break between albums, they’re sounding incredibly refined on their new record Almagre; part progressive jazz, part film noir (that kind of nostalgic ambience a la Kit Sebastian), part indie and a generous dose of South American influences. I’m all over it.

Se già con “Albore” la maturità artistica era più che sbocciata, in “Almagre” tutte quelle idee sono esplose. Ad una formula già di per sé quasi perfetta va ad aggiungersi la figura di Maria Mallol Moya, che con la sua voce scava la roccia e sfocia in una cascata di parole, idee e si fa perno e bussola del viaggio.

impossibile fotografare un disco come Almagre in uno spazio così ridotto. Dunque l'invito è quello di approfondire subito, senza lasciare che l'opera di Manuel Volpe venga sottaciuta dal resto del rumore mediatico.
